Friday morning her and I left the house at 6:20 am to hed to the surgeons office..i woke up a little earlier than her and ate so i would not feel sick and i did not want to eat in front of her since she could not eat or drink:(
anyway the surgery was about 10 minutes but the recovery time after was about 2 hours because we could not get her oxygen levels up..we finally were released and she threw up in the car! She seemed just fine so I took her home and started right away giving her what ever popsicle or icecream she wanted.. she did pretty good the first day.
she was a bit loopy from the lortab that she had to take every 4 hours so it was pretty funny to try to talk to her..
Saturday she was the same she still drank and ate a little bit of her yogurts and stuff so not too worried, Sunday was the 3rd day so i was armed for the worst! Pretty much all day the only thing I had to struggle with is trying to get her to drink. she would not even take her meds! it was a pretty tough day because of her lack of fluid intake and that was it!! i was so happy, so I thought the 4th day would be worse.
I prayed my guts out all day sunday and sunday night that she would start drinking because i did not want her to be dehydrated.. so she woke up monday and wanted to DRINK! i was sooo happy!! she downed a cup of water and then started vomitting! oh man i was sure hoping it was just gagging or something.....anyway she continued to vomit the rest of the day I stopped her pain meds about 1 pm in case it was too hard on her tummy. Last night has been the WORST night so far. she threw up ALL night long and was so out of it she was just up and down all night:(
so far that has been the hardest. She woke up this morning so lethargic and still vomiting so Matthew and Brandon gave her a blessing which was awesome! ( I love having the priesthood in my home!)
I finally called her doctor to see if something else might be going on because everyone that i have talked to does not recall their child vomitting that much after their surgery... so the doc wanted me to take her right in to the E.R and get an IV since she had not had 4 wet diapers...I was more concerned about her kidneys or bowels shutting down so that is why i thought maybe she was throwing up so much..i mean she was not even throwing up blood?
Matt and I took her in and sure enough she was severely dehydrated and her white blood count was really high(which usually is after this surgery) they cathed her and sent her urine to get cultured to make sure she does not have a UTI ....anyway 6 hours at the E.R was enough for this poor girl! she is now a NEW woman!! she is talking which she has not done since her surgery, she is playing with her babies and just being Haven....so I am soo thankful for those sweet ivs, at least for tonight made hers and my life easier......I hope she does not get bad again but am enjoying this now:) She ate her first real dinner and drank from a cup and is now sitting next to me right now coloring instead of laying on me whimpering! cute baby hoho's!!!
